Reflexive Pronouns

A reflexive pronoun is a pronoun that is used when the object of a verb is the same as the subject of that verb.

These would be the -self pronouns in english. “I saw myself in the mirror.” The object of the verb “saw” is the same as the subject, in this case “I.” Think about the meaning of the word “reflex” in “reflexive” meaning “bend back;” the object “bends back” to the subject, or in otherwords it references the thing that came before it, so it’s reflexive.
